Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The year 2023 has been a challenging one for most of us individually and certainly for our church family. I feel the need for our church to step up and launch a frontal attack on the kingdom of darkness by accessing the grace of God to move on our behalf. Before Joshua went to battle at Jericho, he told all the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things for you.” (Jos. 3:4). We need the Lord to do some amazing things for us at WOLCF. We will consecrate the month of January to the Lord with fasting and prayer. Every member of WOLCF is encouraged to join us in this time of corporate consecration. We will begin Thursday January 11th until January 31th. All members are to do a 12-hour intermittent fast. The fast should start at 7pm and end at 7am. There should be no eating and no drinking besides water or healthy drinks during this 12-hour period. From 7am to 7pm you may eat only healthy foods and drink only water and healthy drinks. You can drink coffee black or with very little creamer.
Whenever there was a case of fasting in the bible, there were always two things that accompanied it, 1. A definite purpose 2. A definite time of intense prayer.
Our Purpose
Corporately
- Pray that God will fill us with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, in order that we may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in everyway, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God and being strengthened with power.
- Pray for the numerical growth of our church. We need equipping for outreach and witnessing. We are trusting that God will do His part and Help us to do our part.
- Pray for the miraculous provision of finances for our building project. We need a miracle from God! We believe and are expecting to receive!
- Pray for a spiritual awakening and revival in our church, our homes and our community.
Individually
- Do you need victory in any personal battles you are facing? Or victory against impossible circumstances? Write those things and place them before the Lord in this time of fasting and prayer.
- Are there habits or addiction that need to be broken in your family or household? What about unsaved loved ones that need salvation? Now is the time to do battle for deliverance.
- There may be other things that you need to bring before the Lord during this time of consecration, (financial, need for direction, etc.)
- Let’s address and confess any sin in our lives and ask God to purify us.
During the month of January, we will follow the examples of Daniel and King David, and petition the Lord three times a day: morning (7am), noon (12pm), and night (7pm). (Daniel 6:10; Psalm 55:16-17) including Wednesday night intercessory prayer hour.
It is vital that we are prayerful, and in the Word of God daily during this month. Go forward with great expectancy.
