First Lady LaToya S. Franklin
Church Administration/Director of Ministry to Women
First Lady LaToya is a true example of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and Missouri City, Texas where she obtained her early education and high school. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. Luther E. Brown. There she first served in the Youth Choir and Junior Usher Board Ministry. She later also served as a Youth Director, Church Secretary, Bible Study Teacher, and Secretary of the Deaconess Board for many years. When her husband followed the Lord’s leading and decided to start his own ministry LaToya made the transition with him and continued to support him in ministry. As she walks alongside her husband, she efficiently helps to manage the church’s business, and is always willing to assist in any capacity.
First Lady LaToya favorite scripture is Proverbs 3; 5,6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all things acknowledge him, and he shall direct your way.” Lady LaToya believes that we are to trust God with all our hearts and not depend on what we know. At all times, include God in everything you do, and this way, you give Him a chance to keep you on the right track. You may not always know what lies ahead.
LaToya is currently enrolled at The College of Biblical Studies where is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership. She has a passion to see women living at their fullest God-given potential.
LaToya is happily married to her sweet husband Pastor Tyrone D. Franklin for the past 25 years. They are happy and blessed parents/grandparents of their son TaMarcus Dickson, daughters- Adrianna, Kendra and Kristin and 2 beautiful grandchildren Jaden and TaMarcus Jr.
LaToya is very nurturing, has a heart to serve, and is gifted in administration and leadership. She is excited and looking forward to what the Lord has in store for Word of Life Christian Fellowship.
