Pastor Tyrone D. Franklin is a native Houstonian who grew up in the 5th ward part of Houston Texas. He is a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School class of 91. He became a Christian at the age of 14 and joined First Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alan K. Brown. He was immediately inspired to become an active member, participating in the youth ministry and other areas of the church. He discovered he had a talent for writing songs and plays.

He began doing gospel rap on youth Sundays, as an effort to attract other young people. This he continued to do for many years, even becoming a music label owner, writer, artist, and producer of 3 professional studio albums that were released in 2005, 2009, and 2011.

At age 18, Pastor Franklin was appointed Youth Minister, and served faithfully in the ministry as teacher, mentor, coordinator of youth activities, special days, etc. In April of 1997, Pastor Franklin accepted his calling to the preaching ministry and after preaching his first sermon on June 29, 1997 he began serving as Associate Minister. On August 9, 1997 he married LaToya, and together have 3 daughters (Adrianna, Kendra, Kristin ). He also has a son (Ta’Marcus).

During his years as an Associate Minister, Pastor Franklin assisted with preaching and other ministerial responsibilities, while still serving as youth minister and working alongside other church departments. His influence grew outside of FMC as he assisted other church groups/ministries. He started two movements in the city of Houston under his ministry Immortal Souljahz Ent.

He is known for his Many Members 1 Body music concert, Boys Basketball Tournament, and annual Red and White, as a part of a marriage ministry hosted by, he and his wife LaToya. In 2018 Pastor Franklin registered for the College of Biblical Studies, after being led to Pastoral Ministry. Prior to completing his studies and obtaining a degree in Biblical Studies in 2021,the Lord confirmed his calling to Pastoral Leadership and led him to start a church in the Fresno and Pearland area.

In February of 2021, Pastor Franklin founded Word of Life Christian Fellowship where he and his wife LaToya are serving faithfully by the will of God. He is currently working on his second degree (Organizational Leadership) at College of Biblical Studies. He is a member of affiliated Pastoral ministries: Servant Serving Servants and IMPACT.
